Ek dil ke tukde hazaar huye

bahte huye aansoo ruk na sake
koyi yahaan giraa koyi wahaan giraa
koyi yahaan giraa koyi wahaan giraa

jeewan ke safar mein ham jinko samjhe the hamaare saathi hain
jeewan ke safar mein ham jinko samjhe the hamaare saathi hain
do qadam chale phir bichhad gaye
do qadam chale phir bichhad gaye
koyi yahaan giraa koyi wahaan giraa
koyi yahaan giraa koyi wahaan giraa
ik dil ke tukde hazaar huye
ik dil ke tukde hazaar huye
koyi yahaan giraa koyi wahaan giraa
koyi yahaan giraa koyi wahaan giraa

aashaaon ke tinke chun-chun kar
sapnon kaa mahal banaayaa thaa..

aashaaon ke tinke chun-chun kar
sapnon kaa mahal banaayaa thaa
toofaan se tinke bikhar gaye
toofaan se tinke bikhar gaye
koyi yahaan giraa koyi wahaan giraa
koyi yahaan giraa koyi wahaan giraa
ik dil ke tukde hazaar huye
ik dil ke tukde hazaar huye
koyi yahaan giraa koyi wahaan giraa
koyi yahaan giraa koyi wahaan giraa..

Qamar Jalalabadi ਕ਼ਮਰ ਜਲਾਲਾਬਾਦੀ, قمر جلال آبادی also known as Qamar Jalabadi (1919 - 9 January 2003), was a writer, particularly of soundtracks of Bollywood movies.Other than being an accomplished film lyricist, Qamar Jalalabadi was a polished and highly acclaimed Adabi Shayar as well, and had graced innumerable mushairas and symposiums related to Urdu poetry all over India.

Having been inspired to write by a wandering minstrel poet named Amar whom he acquainted with in his hometown who indeed spotted his colossal talent and potential, Qamar Jalalabadi was well renowned both as an Urdu poet & a Hindi film lyricist. Apart from inspiration and encouragement he was also presented with the 'takhallus' of 'Qamar' which means 'moon', and Jalalabadi that got added as he hailed from that town.
Stepping into the stint of career through Lahore-based newspapers like Daily Milap, DailyPratap, Nirala, and Star Sahakar wherein he had been writing, the reverence and respect that he owned to the film industry and the longing he owned to be a part of it pulled him to Pune in the 1940s. Zameendar, a Pancholi Pictures production was the first film wherein he penned his lyrics in the year 1942 wherein the song voiced by Shamshad Begum titled 'Duniya me garibonko aaraam nahi milta, rote hain to hasne ka paigaam nahi milta' spun the skies seeking fame. He was a very capable lyricist as he owned the potential to handle any situation right from the bizarre to the awe-inspiring ones with the same precision which is quite evident through his work wherein he wrote duets like 'Sun mere sajana dekhoji mujhko bhool na jana' sung by Lata Mangeshkar and Mohd. Rafi (Aansoo- 1953) on one hand and at the same time also disbursed comical songs like 'Aaj pahli taarik hai' sung by Kishore Kumar (Pehli Tarikh-1954).
It is indeed worth mentioning that Jalalabadi got the opportunity to work with a genre of music directors like Ghulaam Haider, Jhande Khan, Husnlal Bhagatram, Pandit Amarnath, Sudhir Phadke, C. Ramchandra, S. D. Burman, Krishna Dayal and Khemchand Prakash and also the pleasure of making his lyrics memorable through the voices of Shamshad Begum, G. M. Durrani, Meenakshi, Zeenat Begum, Amirbai Karnatqi, Geeta Roy, Suraiya, Lata Mangeshkar and Mukesh.
